Our prep students had a wonderful day out at the Collingwood Children’s Farm last week. The students were thrilled to get up close to, and feed some of the farm animals. The Children’s Farm is an educational experience, giving the students the opportunity to meet the animals, see where they live, understand where their food comes from and what animals produce – cows for milking, pigs for meat and poultry for eggs. Our students also learned about the veggie garden and the fertilisation process. A highlight was tasting and smelling all the fresh herbs and plants picked from the garden plus hand feeding some of the animals. It was a big day for our preps but they had a wonderful day exploring the farm and can’t wait to visit again soon!
