In Week 1 of Term, both campuses held dedicated ANZAC Day services to honour the history, bravery and sacrifice of those who have served.
At GLC St John's Newtown, special guests, including Member for Geelong Christine Couzens MP, City of Greater Geelong Mayor Cr Stretch Kontelj OAM, and a parent serving in the Defence Forces joined our students laying wreathes at the flagpole, with lovely performances by our choirs led by Mrs Howard, Ms Robinson on bugle and guest John Jordan on bagpipes.
Primary Students at the Armstrong Creek campus also made commemorative wreathes ahead of time, with representatives from each class coming forward to place theirs on the stage during the GLC Armstrong Creek service. These were then moved to the campus’ flagpoles for the remainder of the day.
Thank you for everyone who attended our ANZAC Day services and helped make them a very moving and fitting commemoration.
