Curriculum
The IB Primary Years Programme offers GLC Primary students a comprehensive program that fosters curiosity, independence, critical thinking and a love of learning through its strong focus on inquiry, student agency, conceptual understanding and the development of the whole child.
We believe the PYP serves as a strong foundation for a seamless learning journey, equipping students with the mindset, skills and confidence to thrive throughout their education.
At GLC, the skills, attitudes and approaches to learning students develop throughout the PYP, continue to be nurtured in their Secondary years of learning. The attributes of a student developed in the IB Learner Profile, sets students up for life as a secondary student where they transition to the next phase of their learning and adopt the GLC Student Profile Attributes. Throughout their time at GLC, students continue to grow as confident, capable and reflective learners.
Both primary and secondary curriculum is developed from the Australian Curriculum, and in the Secondary years a carefully designed subject based learning model develops deep knowledge, specialised skills and pathway readiness required for success throughout their secondary years, and preparing students for life beyond school.
GLC believes the early learning foundations of PYP is exactly what a GLC Primary student needs. Similarly, our Secondary curriculum and pathways provides exactly what a Secondary student needs to develop academic rigour and the skills required for their future endeavours.
