A group of 10 primary students from GLC attended a chess tournament held at St John’s Lutheran School. The Chess Tournament, consisting of seven rounds, was attended  by students in Years 3 to 6 that regularly attend the lunchtime Chess Club. There were 46 competitors in total, with Thomas (Year 6) taking out the overall 2nd place trophy. All participants displayed great sportsmanship and  problem-solving skills.

Playing Chess also helps to improve one’s memory, exercises both sides of the brain and increases one’s creativity.
