Community spirit was alive and well both in the preparation of and during the Family Maths Night held on Tuesday 20th March. It was wonderful to see many families embracing a wide range of Maths activities together. Students worked their way through a plethora of activities such as: playing strategy games; making and manipulating shapes; completing a Maths scavenger hunt; estimating lollies in jars; playing dice, domino and card games; participating in Maths tutorials; learning more about the Rubrik’s cube; playing strategy games; playing chess against a Chess Master and many more.

Our appetites were catered for by VCAL staff and students who made delicious pizzas and the Year 3 and 4 teachers and helpers with their scrumptious hamburgers, vegie burgers and sausages.

On the night tips for promoting mathematical skills and understanding at home were distributed. Copies of this handout are available at the front office.
