Welcome from Head of College

Thank you for considering Geelong Lutheran College for your child.

Our vision is to be is a leading, innovative, Christ-centred learning community that inspires students to be caring, confident and creative citizens.

As of 2019, we are enjoying a shared identity of the two Lutheran schools in the Geelong area:

  • Geelong Lutheran College – St John's Newtown: 3K – Year 6, established in 1962
  • Geelong Lutheran College – Armstrong Creek: P – Year 12, established in 2009

Both of our campuses offer a welcoming, lively and nurturing Christian environment with a focus on providing a quality, Christian education for children in the Greater Geelong region.

Our special focus is on the whole child, especially the needs of individual students with an emphasis on the social/emotional, academic, physical and spiritual dimensions. We have a diverse student cohort and encourage student enrolment applications from a wide range of backgrounds.

Our outstanding staff are very committed to supporting our students and their ongoing development. Essential to our College is our relationship with God, in the context of the Gospel, where each student is valued and accepted as a child of God.

Relationships are a very important part of our Geelong Lutheran College culture, and we use the Restorative Practice model in the support of our students’ behaviour.

Both campuses are committed to our students’ social and emotional wellbeing through the provision of highly qualified and experienced counsellors.

We offer a range of activities: co-curricular including sport and music and extra-curricular including service learning, robotics, Duke of Edinburgh program and debating.

For a taste of Geelong Lutheran College, register for our next Open Day. I strongly recommend you visit us, to see the College campuses in action, to meet members of our caring and dynamic schools and experience for yourself these unique environments.
