Bus Travel

Geelong Lutheran College (GLC) will continue to provide the valuable private bus service to and from both the GLC Armstrong Creek and St John’s Newtown campuses in 2022.

As our families come from all over the Greater Geelong region, we have recently expanded our bus routes to include the following locations:

Anglesea via Jan Juc & Torquay

Armstrong Creek via Mount Duneed & Charlemont

Belmont / Waurn Ponds via Grovedale & Marshall

Geelong via Corio, Bell Park, North Geelong, East Geelong & South Geelong

Bannockburn / Inverleigh via Inverleigh, Teesdale, Bannockburn, Batesford, Hamlyn Heights, Manifold Heights & Newtown

Lara via Bell Post, Newtown & South Geelong

Ocean Grove  via Wallington, Barwon Heads, Connewarre & Armstrong Creek

Portarlington  via Clifton Springs, Drysdale, Wallington, Leopold, Moolap, Newcomb, St Albans Park, Whittington & Grovedale

Torquay via Freshwater Creek & Mount Duneed

Waurn Ponds / Highton via Wandana Heights & Grovedale

Winchelsea  via Wurdiboluc, Gherang, Modewarre & Moriac

GLC buses are equipped with the RollCall system which allows parents to see when their child/ren have ‘tapped on’ and ‘tapped off’ the bus using their student cards. It also allows parents to live track the bus, all from the RollCall Parents mobile app.

The RollCall ‘2022 Bus Routes’ link located at the bottom of the page, shows all of the bus routes we are able to offer and includes both the AM pick up and PM drop off times and locations.

The cost for a full year of bus travel is $1,075 per student for full time travel and $650 for part time use (up to five trips per week). A fee of $10 per trip for casual users will be charged for one-off trips only. Casual travel is not always available due to limited seating capacity and is only by arrangement with the Bus Coordinator at buses@glc.vic.edu.au. The cost for using the bus service will be added to the school fees as a separate charge for 2022.

Where families are eligible for Conveyance Allowance for private bus travel (GLC buses), this will be directed to the College to help offset the cost of the College’s bus service.

Times and services for Government school buses can be obtained from the Regional Bus Coordinator at Matthew Flinders Girls Secondary College on 5221 8834.
