Geelong Lutheran College Armstrong Creek campus’ brand-new Resource Centre, Concordia, was officially opened on Wednesday 22 July by Pastor Lester Priebbenow, District Bishop Victoria and Tasmania, Lutheran Church of Australia, alongside College staff and student leaders from both campuses.

In addition to the blessing and formalities, guests at Wednesday's opening were also treated to a performance by our Secondary Orchestra of an original fanfare piece written for the occasion, and a chance to try out Concordia's internal slide.

The opening also included the unveiling of the Lasting Chapter legacy wall located at the entrance of Concordia. Built by a teacher and their Product Design students, the timber installation resembles a bookcase and features sponsored book spines purchased by College families.

Concordia is a significant investment in students’ access to literature and information, bringing together dedicated Primary library spaces downstairs and Secondary library spaces upstairs, two classrooms and staff facilities in a central hub at the growing Armstrong Creek campus.

The two-storey building also features an elevated connection to the neighbouring Year 11 and 12 centre, Ngarrwa, helping create stronger links between learning spaces across the campus. The staff hub will provide a collaborative working space for staff.

The $6.5 million project was supported by the Victorian Government, with a $3 million grant from Round 2 of the Government’s Non-Government Schools Capital Fund. The College was grateful to have partnered with the Government to deliver this fantastic new facility, with support from the Victorian Independent Schools Block Grant Authority to help secure this funding commitment and project financing from LLL Australia.
