Planting Trees For the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Our Armstrong Creek campus was blessed to receive $5,000 from the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee Program, which enabled the College to have trees planted at the back of the oval to create ‘The Forest’.

Students from Prep and Year 5 had the opportunity to take part in the planting, and joined our Primary Captains, Head of College Jill Lange-Mohr OAM, Principal Sue Ellis, and Deputy Mayor of the City of Greater Geelong Cr Anthony Aitken to unveil a plaque on Thursday 17 November 2022.

Along with a planned Jubilee Avenue near Burvilles Road, these trees commemorate Her Majesty, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee of 70 remarkable years of service, right up until her passing in September.

In addition to being a lasting reminder of The Queen’s service, the Forest will also become a great learning environment for future students, where they can explore a range of outdoor learning experiences.
