Commemorating ANZAC Day 2023

With ANZAC Day falling at the very end of the school holidays, both GLC campuses marked this solemn occasion during Week 1 of term.

Armstrong Creek Preps to Year 12 students came together on the first day of term for a special whole school service to commemorate ANZAC Day. Our students all took part in honouring the history, bravery and sacrifice of those who have served. Representatives from each class came forward during the service to lay a wreath their class had created last term.

The ANZAC Day chapel at St John's Newtown was a wonderful way to bring together the school community and was a wonderful way to conclude our first week of Term 2.

The special all school chapel service was lead by our Captains, and featured our Year 3-6 Choir accompanied by Mr Illingworth, Mr Jordan from Geelong Bagpipes Association, and Mr Dinse on the trumpet. We were honoured to have Christine Couzens MP in attendance and thank all our special guests for their participation in our service.

Thank you to all our staff and students involved and for those family and community members to were able to attend.
