Geelong Lutheran College values the active involvement of parents in its programs and fund raising efforts.
The College’s aims can only be achieved if parents are aware of, and are actively involved in the life of the College. Parents can support their children and the staff in many ways and are urged to consider in what capacity they may best contribute to their children’s education. A range of formal and informal opportunities exists for parents at a level of commitment of their own choice.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer in various ways, including:
- Sporting events and programs;
- Classroom helpers
- The Learning Assistance Program
- Excursions and Camps, etc.
Parents and Friends
Parent participation is critical to the effectiveness of the Parents and Friends auxiliary.
All parents are encouraged to take an active role in Parents and Friends by supporting their activities that are aimed at building a strong and supportive college community, promoting the College and raising funds.
Each family (including carers) who has a child at the school is automatically a member of the Parents and Friends. Membership is also open to any person who is associated with, or has an interest in Geelong Lutheran College.
All volunteers over the age of 18 are required to have a Working With Children card and current Valuing Safe Communities training before taking part in activities involving children.
