Commemorating ANZAC Day at GLC

With ANZAC Day falling at the end of the school holidays, our students and teachers at both campuses marked the special day in our national calendar during the first week back of term.

SJ students from Kindergarten through to Year 6 came together for a special whole school Chapel last Friday afternoon at the Plaza. The service included reflections and prayers from the captains and Pastor Milton, a minute’s silence between the playing of the Last Post and the Rouse, and renditions of the Australian and New Zealand National Anthems and We Are Australian by the choir.

Over at AC, the wreathes and ANZAC tributes created by students in Term 1 were placed by the flag poles early on Wednesday morning ahead of students returning for the first day back of term. An ANZAC Chapel was recorded online and played in class on the day, with AC Primary students laying their wreaths at the flagpole during the morning.
