The Kitchen Garden orchard is underway!

In the final week of Term 3, students from Year 3 and 4, with assistance from 8B students and the Year 10 Service Learning class planted over 40 fruit trees and grape vines. We now have citrus (grapefruit, mandarin, oranges, limes and lemons) that will fruit for most of the year, avocado trees, pomegranate, quince, fig and cumquats. The plants were purchased with the Lutheran Earthcare grant from Lutheran Education Australia.

The orchard, adjacent to the new science building, will provide a beautiful addition to the current Kitchen Garden and give students the opportunity to learn about harvesting and propagating these new trees.
