One of the highlights of what has been a busy Term 1 was the involvement of our students in the Geelong Tech initiative entitled Future Bricks. As a part of their Science research students made a hemp-based brick at school before taking the dried brick to Geelong Tech for testing against a normal house brick. Properties tested included heat conductivity, sound buffering and strength using equipment only available at the Tech. The project was in collaboration with Geelong company Austeng. The investigation, driven by Trudi Abikhar, Tim Waltrowics and Phil O’Donnell, will run into Term 2.
