Week 1, Term 3

Welcome back to a new semester – a new start in so many ways – new opportunities – new things to learn and explore – a new approach to our news stories. I would like to extend a very special welcome to the 16 new students and their families who have joined us at our College.

Although we are in our ninth year, there are still “firsts” – though fewer in number these days. Our first college-organised international tour returned to us safely with so many stories and experiences to share with us. This year’s focus on school improvement is opening up new possibilities and new ways of thinking about the “old”.

In terms of building development, our new Science centre is taking shape and will be ready for the start of the 2018 school year. This $4 million project involves additional purpose built science rooms and middle school learning spaces. The building will have links to our science gardens and will help us develop our focus on environmental sustainability.

Most importantly, a new semester heralds the opportunities to make a fresh start for our students and an exciting world of new ideas and opportunities before them.
